Consistent mare who deserves to get her head in front; knocked on the door again when second at Orange last month, given too much to do, and won’t get many better opportunities than this to make the breakthrough; obvious claims.
We head to Hawkesbury in the early hours of Tuesday morning for our first tracker horse Down Under and POLISHED PENNY looks worth siding with in a winnable race. She ran a big race on the figures when denied just a neck at Orange last month. She is entitled to tighten up physically for that given it was her first run for five months. Won’t get many better chances than this to shed the maiden-tag. Srini is the clear danger as he has only had three starts and should be capable of better. Might need more experience though.

Talented sort who has won two of his last three, showing a smart turn of foot to brush aside rivals here last time; clearly loves this track having recorded eight of his wins here; hard to pick holes in and looks a good bet to complete the hat-trick.
There’s a lot to like about the chances of POETIC HEART here having sprinted clear to score over 1500m last time. He has won twice over this trip in the past and couldn’t be in better form. Granted usual luck in running surely the hat-trick beckons? Heyington won here and then finishing a good second back in trip last time. He’s never scored over this distance though so while he’s a danger I’m happy to pass him over. Notio is probably the one I fear most. He ran second to the selection last time and is evidently in good form.
