Race 7 Gulfstream 8.49 Sniper Shot (11/10)
Promising sort who returned with a four length romp over 6f here in January, much the best; encouraging second on first start for three months over 7f here last time and extra furlong looks ideal; fitter now and the one to beat with the promise of more to come.
The US NAP has won 18 times in the last 24 days so not sure what the abuse was about on Twitter last night but there you go! We’re working hard to get it back firing and we head to Gulfstream tonight for our best bet. SNIPER SHOT boasts a progressive profile and if he builds on that recent second stepping up in trip he will be hard to beat here under Saez. His win here over shorter in January was promising and he looks open to plenty of improvement. Stablemate Legit is the danger. Could be a 1-2 for Pletcher.

Race 8 Santa Anita 12.08 Bellafina (6/4)
Useful filly who was knocking on the door prior to finishing fourth at Oaklawn last time; made good headway before flattening out so may just have needed the run; further progress on the cards now and should prove too classy for these; the one to beat.
Given BELLAFINA finished a length ahead of main market rival Mother Mother in a Grade 1 here in December she looks a good bet to return to winning ways at Santa Anita tonight. The step back to 6f is also in her favour so she should confirm that form. She could still step forward again being just a 4yo so is a confident bet to come out on top under Flavien Prat. Fighting Mad bolted up when last seen but this is obviously tougher and her credentials will be tested. It’s a good race and hopefully the fav obliges.
