OUR FIRST NOTEBOOK DOWN UNDER GOES IN RACE 5 AT ALBURY!
Race 5 Albury 6.20 Openhimup (2/1)
Returned from five months off the track with an improved effort to finish second at Wagga, beaten a length by Fat Gecko; fitter now and looks to have been found a good chance to make the breakthrough; experience should count for plenty.
We head to Albury for our first tracker horse of the week and OPENHIMUP looks primed to strike for Peter Maher and Nick Souquet. He is an improving 3yo who put in his best race to date on return. If stepping forward from that he will win this. Super Doute’s makes his first start but might need the experience. Orazio is the main danger but he is drawn wide so will need some luck to land a blow. Liberty Princess is also out for the first time so might be more streetwise on next start.

Race 7 Echuca 6.30 Hedley’s Lady (2/1)
Good looking chestnut filly who galloped rivals into submission at Casterton last time, making all the running; steps up in grade now but clearly improving fast based on that last win and if building on that should go in again under Billy Egan.
I’m looking forward to seeing HEDLEY’S LADY out again for Patrick Payne. She looks a smart filly bounding clear from rivals at Casterton last time and with further progress on the cards she is strongly fancied to make it two wins in a row. King Kabuto ran well when second last time but for me she needs more to trouble the favourite. Passed over on this occasion. Sweeping The Board could be the main threat as he was highly tried last time and will find this easier so should run a place.

The Tracker Double consists of both Notebook runners. Remember these are profitable to follow as singles so it’s always worth combining them as a double to maximise profit.
Value Tip
Race 7 Albury 7.35 Front Page (7/4)
Promising youngster who won well over track and trip on debut; down the field on last start but not beaten far in a bunched finish; returns with more to give and could have too much for these; fancied to come out on top.
A bit of a shorter price than what we usually go for but even at 7/4 I think the classy FRONT PAGE is value here. He likes this C&D having won on debut and with further progress on the cards is expected to be in a different league to these on return from two months off the track. Happy Lad is solid and won at Leeton last time. If the selection fails to fire he is the one likely to pick up the pieces. Of the rest Jawwaal should step forward physically for that mediocre effort here on return.
