Improved a chunk to win on return from six months off the track, justifying favouritism in good style over 950m here latest; open to plenty of improvement off the back of that and expected to take this step up in grade in his stride.
The Aussie NAP has won four times in the last seven days so hopefully we can add another one on Thursday morning as we head to Cairns. RIGEL won a maiden in good style in soft ground here over 950m and Chris Whiteley keeps the ride. He is back slightly in trip but there looks to be a fair bit of pace on so he should be finishing best to pick them up in the closing stages. He is improving all the time now and looks a confident bet to follow up for Stephen Massingham. Bet On Love is probably the main threat.

Race 7 Ballarat 7.00 Lady Solly (2/1)
Good looking chestnut who caught the eye finishing off last prep with a good second at Echuca, beaten just a nose; this trip looks her optimum with two of her three wins coming over this distance; excellent chance on return.
Despite a tricky gate LADY SOLLY looks to have a big chance of returning with a win at Ballarat on Thursday morning. She is a likeable mare who goes particularly well over this trip having won twice and placed three times from seven attempts. I think Will Price will want to push forward and she has early gears to overcome that wide gate. If she gets on the speed it will take a good one to reel her in. 2/1 looks too good to pass up and I think she’ll be backed in the run up to the race. Lucifer’s Reward looks the danger.
