Promising filly who won a Group 3 last season; stepped forward markedly from her reappearance winning at Longchamp last time in testing ground, nicely on top at the finish; sets a good standard and should prove hard to beat.
A good card at Clairefontaine on Thursday and I’m hoping SPINNING MEMORIES can go in again under Soumillon. He gave her a good ride to win at Longchamp last time. She won a Group 3 last season and sets a good standard for these to aim at, should prove too good. Devil failed to stay the trip when down the field behind The Summit on return but this trip will suit him better and he still has potential so looks the main threat. Of the rest Stunning Spirit wasn’t disgraced last time so is also respected. Fav looks the one though!

Clairefontaine 10.40 Shariq (13/8)
A lot to like about the way he responded to pressure and ran on strongly on just his second start having looked tapped for toe; improved again on return when strong at the finish out wide and the step up in trip looks ideal now; could be coming home best.
It’s no surprise to see the money coming for SHARIQ here as he ran a race full of promise when runner-up on just his second start and then had a good blow finishing well for fourth on return. He was forced to try and challenge out wide so it was a good effort in the circumstances. He is sure to improve again and with the extra yardage firmly in his favour he can come out on top and open his account. Ultramarine is in good hands and has also showed encouragement so has to be respected. Looks the main danger to me.
