Race 3 Ipswich 3.33 Dark Son (10/11)
Speedy sort who did well to win at Toowoomba on penultimate start, getting there by a nose at the line; backed that up with a big run when second last time and this looks another good opportunity with the promise of more to come.
The Aussie NAP won again on Monday so we are now chasing our sixth winner in the last week. The speedy DARK SON is looking for another win. He is a promising gelding who has already scored twice. Judging by that latest second he is still improving and should have too much for these. Real Fine Wine is probably the main danger as he has only had five starts and will have more to come. I’ll be surprised if any of the others get involved. Electric Dragon was poor last time and will need to find plenty to trouble the selection.

Race 5 Sandown 5.45 Shahzade (13/8)
Promising mare who has won three of her nine starts; came from way back to win at Ballarat on her penultimate start and again ran well when third at Flemington in stronger company; clearly the one to beat.
We head to Sandown Down Under for our second best bet of the morning and SHAHZADE can make it three wins from her last four. She was facing much tougher opposition at Flemington last time and ran a cracker in third. With further improvement a distinct possibility she will be tough to hold out. I can see this being run to suit too with Whiskey Shooter and Elegant Snitz giving her a target to aim at. Pure Scot is probably the main threat. She has a good draw and a handy claim so is definitely noted.
