Race 1 Hawkesbury 3.10 Pitjara (10/11)
Improving filly who looks to have been found a good opportunity to get off the mark; ran well when second at Newcastle last time and the step up in trip can bring about further improvement; the one to beat.
The favourite PITJARA should be hard to beat here. This Godolphin filly ran her best race in four runs to date when second last time and with further improvement on the cards and the step up in trip likely to suit she should be hard to beat. The danger looks to be Thrive In The Home but he is going to push forward and should set it up for the selection. Calbuco may end up running on for a place so may be value in that respect. Hard to recommend much else, lacks strength in depth.

Race 6 Rockhampton 5.04 Hey Pal (13/8)
Hat-trick seeker who looks good value to go in again; built on an encouraging second at Mackay to win his next start and then followed up over 1300m here last time; won his only start over this trip so big chance.
Flame Princess is favourite here and she does have more to come but so does HEY PAL and the latter is chasing his third straight win in a row and stands out as one of my best bets of the morning Down Under. He is improving fast and the wide gate doesn’t bother me. With Tabatha Miss scratched it only strengthens his claims and 13/8 seems generous. I make him favourite, may well end up going off that way. It is between the front two so hard to see anything else getting involved but Ziggi Rocks may hit the frame.
