Race 8 Lone Star 11.15 Stalemate (5/4)
Smart filly who showed a good attitude to get up late and win by a head over track and trip last time; won two of her last three now and can improve again so good chance of coming out on top; most likely winner.
The US NAP won last night as Caddo Fox held on narrowly at Lone Star. We head to that track again tonight and STALEMATE stands out in Race 8 on the card. She is a useful filly at this level and comes here thriving having won two of her last three. She doesn’t lack early pace so should secure the perfect position before pouncing in the straight. Makes strong appeal in a race like this! Country Dream is chasing a hat-trick and should give her most to think about. Needs to prove her effectiveness back on turf though.

Race 7 Tampa Bay Downs 8.28 Free Dancer (13/8)
Dotted up over track and trip in January, winning by four lengths having made all the running; did too much early on first start on turf but then improved to finish second last time; back on dirt now and can improve again so tough to hold out.
This looks to revolve around FREE DANCER for me. He is a useful sort who looked very good when last seen on dirt winning by four lengths over C&D. He should push forward again here and positive tactics can see him back in the winners enclosure. Eternal Cross may look to take him on but I think the selection will be faster away and is hopefully always dictating. The latter is definitely a danger. Crupi’s Pizza Dom is also entitled to plenty of respect but has run poorly the last twice so will need to bounce back.
