Haydock 2.40 Manuela De Vega (11/10)
Lope De Vega filly who had some smart form to her name last season notably when fourth in the Oaks; better than ever on return making all over C&D in a Group 3 and could be hard to catch again if positive tactics are adopted; the one to beat.
Hard to get away from MANUELA DE VEGA here. She is a likeable filly who lowered the colours of Fanny Logan at Haydock when last seen. That rival has since won the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot impressively so the form has been given a handsome boost. Cabaletta beat Frankly Darling on debut before chasing home Franconia at Newbury last time and can do better so should emerge as the main danger to the selection. It’s a good race and one I’m looking forward to!

Sandown 1.50 Liberty Beach (2/1)
Smart filly by Cable Bay; won four times from six races as a 2yo and looked even better on return winning impressively at Haydock before running a big race when third to Battaash in the King’s Stand; hard to pick holes in her and should prove too good.
Lazuli impressed over C&D 3 weeks ago so has to be feared but I can’t oppose LIBERTY BEACH here. She looked better than ever on return and backed that up with a huge run in the King’s Stand behind Battaash and Equilateral. She looks poised to run another big race back in calmer waters and has to be kept safe. Caspian Prince rolled back the years at Newcastle and should give the selection a good toe into it. Tarboosh should run well and might be value for a place. Don’t blink as you might miss this!
