NAP – Best selection of the evening

THE DAILY NAP (BEST BET) RUNS AT GLORIOUS GOODWOOD THIS AFTERNOON!

Goodwood 2.45 English King (11/8)

Camelot colt who looked a hugely exciting horse in the making winning the Lingfield Derby Trial head in chest; things didn’t go to plan in the Derby; still on an upward curve so expected to have too much for these.

Now this is no easy task but I can’t see past ENGLISH KING here for Ed Walker. He is still a hugely talented horse in my eyes and I expect him to bounce back in style here under Frankie Dettori. I’m almost certain he has more to come and he should win this before going onto better things. Obviously Khalifa Sat was in front of him in the Derby so he needs to reverse that form but the latter had a dream trip round and while he goes well at this track the favourite is expected to prove too strong now.

NB – Second best selection of the day

THE NEXT BEST ALSO RUNS AT GLORIOUS GOODWOOD ON THURSDAY AFTERNOON!

Goodwood 3.45 William Bligh (9/4)

Promising colt who left debut form behind to chase home the exciting Master Of The Seas at Newmarket; built on that to win easily at Haydock last time and further improvement to come yet; looks the one to beat here.

That form with Master Of The Seas looks really strong so WILLIAM BLIGH is a confident selection to follow up his Haydock win. He has a great attitude and looks straightforward so I’ll be surprised if something improves past him here. Horses that have recorded a win before coming to this race have won 4 of the last 4 renewals so the selection should be up to defying a mark of 87. Samara Bay could run a big race at a double-figure price while Calcutta Cup has to be respected but does need to find improvement from somewhere.
