Sligo 5.20 Thatbeatsbanagher (10/11)
Smart type who won impressively over fences at Killarney before exploiting a lower hurdling mark at Tramore 18 days ago, holding on gamely; up 6lb but clearly thriving so very good chance of landing the hat-trick.
This looks a great opportunity for THATBEATSBANAGHER to complete a hat-trick. A 7lb claimer has been booked for the ride so that offsets the 6lb rise for that Tramore win. I don’t think he was suited by how it panned out on that occasion but he still found a way to hold on. He is now rated 117 over fences so you’d think there is still a bit of wiggle room off a mark of 99 over hurdles. He is still improving and should have too much for these. Loudest Whisper is the obvious danger if he gets in (currently first reserve).

Newton Abbot 3.20 Pagero (2/1)
Promising hurdler who dotted up at Huntingdon before following up at Doncaster; handicapper has had his say raising him 15lb but promises to do better and looks well placed to land the hat-trick.
Hard to get away from PAGERO here for Jonjo O’Neill. He is clearly on the upgrade and while a 15lb raise looks a bit daunting I think he has plenty more to come so the hat-trick beckons. This is competitive but he looks the most likely winner. Roar is the one that’s been backed in the market but he was held in second last time and will need more to trouble the favourite for me. Halling’s Comet is probably the main danger as he was only run down late over C&D last time and is in good form. Fav should be too strong though.
