Race 5 Belmont 8.37 Excellent Dream (1/1)
Good looking chestnut who has showed improved form since returning, winning readily over track and trip before following up in good style last time; further improvement to come so hat-trick surely beckons?
This looks all about EXCELLENT DREAM here as we look to land our fifth winning NAP Down Under in a row! This 4yo is just getting better and better and he looks well placed to complete the hat-trick. Amelia Bedelia is probably the danger having won at Northam but she did run a bit below par here last time so will need to better that to challenge the favourite. Classy Lassy is also respected but usually finds one too good. Similar comments apply to Nobelium and it’s hard to recommend anything else.

Race 5 Sandown 5.45 Rich Hips (11/8)
Useful mare who did well to overcome trouble at the start to win here on return on heavy going; came from way off the pace to finish a good second at Caulfield last time; this looks much easier and taken to get back to winning ways.
Back up in trip and in easier company RICH HIPS is a confident selection to make it two wins from her last three. She is on the upgrade and will relish the extra yardage on offer again here. It won’t be easy but she is definitely my selection in the race. Shandy is a danger as she swooped late to win at Bendigo when last seen. Also looks to be going the right way so should be a good battle. Thousand Wishes should finish third so hard to give anything else much of a shout. Market seems to have it more a less spot on!
