Race 3 Bendigo 4.30 Captain Corelli (1/1)
Good looking colt who showed tons of promise on debut storming home for second here; denied just a head so the step up in trip will suit and should be a lot sharper now; obvious chance of making the breakthrough.
This looks a glaring opportunity for the promising CAPTAIN CORELLI to open his account. He made up a lot of ground late and only just failed at the finish. Sure to improve now and taken to make the breakthrough. Damien Oliver also goes on top so that’s another notable positive. I’m not sure there is a danger but Infinite Matrix will probably chase him home. He also finished second on debut and should improve. Bumping into one here but may be worth keeping on side going forward so interesting to see how he runs.

THE AUSSIE NEXT BEST RUNS AT TAREE IN THE EARLY HOURS OF FRIDAY!
Race 5 Taree 6.10 Star Raider (1/1)
Promising type who made a winning debut at Moree; finished second the next twice before showing plenty of encouragement in fourth on return from 10 months off the track; open to improvement and looks the most likely winner.
The one to beat is clearly STAR RAIDER here for Kris Lees. He was a beaten favourite on return but should strip a lot fitter now and has a low gate so will push forward and secure a decent position early. Looks well placed to return to winning ways before going onto better things. A Fortunate Lass and Red Light Dancer should make it and I can see them softening each other up for the favourite. May leave Amiens as the main threat. He won by a head at Newcastle last time and should come on so entitled to go well.
