Progressive sort who ran on well to prevail by a short head and land the hat-trick at Newton Abbot last time defying a 15lb rise; value for more than the winning margin so up 4lb but mark still within reach; sure to go close.
We head over Jumps on Sunday as we look to get the NAP back firing and the improving PAGERO is taken to land the four-timer for Jonjo O’Neill. I’ve been really impressed with him in recent starts and he did well to win last time having looked unbalanced away from the last. He definitely has more to offer so a further 4lb rise should still be within reach. Capone shaped well when third in the first-time blinkers at Market Rasen 3 weeks ago coming from further back than ideal so could emerge as the main danger to the selection here. I think the market has it more a less spot on. Vancouver ended a losing run at Uttoxeter but isn’t sure to back that up so looks opposable.

Back to winning ways in good style in the Beverley Bullet last month, finding plenty for pressure; made all the running that day and similar positive tactics likely to be adopted here; 3lb penalty but obvious claims if in the same form.
It was good to see the likeable DAKOTA GOLD back to winning ways last time. He ran well in the Great St Wilfrid where he was beaten just a couple of lengths so it was good to see him build on that and win gamely last time. He has a 3lb penalty but very much looks the one to beat in this field. We saw last year that once he gets his head in front he can go on a roll so connections will be hoping for similar luck this season. Dutch Art colt Starman is 2-2 and has looked fairly useful. This much tougher but worth a crack and has to come into the reckoning. Judicial has proved better than ever this season but a 5lb penalty does make life tougher so he is taken on with the favourite on this occasion.
