NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS AT MURRAY BRIDGE EARLY ON WEDNESDAY!
Race 4 Murray Bridge 6.35 Halogen (1/1)
Promising colt who looked to need the experience on debut at Moonee Valley, making some headway from midfield as the penny started to drop; not seen since but open to plenty of improvement and this looks a good starting point.
Easily the most interesting colt in Race 4 at Murray Bridge overnight is HALOGEN for the McEvoy yard. This horse got caught deep on debut and will know a lot more after that. He hasn’t been seen since so is making his return off the back of a lengthy absence but could be a cut above these. The market is certainly suggesting that and I can see him going off a shade of odds-on come post time. This looks a good bit of placement on return and he should win this before going onto better things. Biarchi is a good looking filly but she didn’t show a great deal on debut albeit at Group level. Won her trial but then has a sticky gate so should run well but the favourite is readily preferred.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE AUSSIE NEXT BEST RUNS AT CANTERBURY PARK EARLY ON WEDNESDAY MORNING!
Race 5 Canterbury Park 6.45 Plaquette (7/4)
Useful mare who has won two of her last three; made up plenty of ground to win at Newcastle; disappointed next start but quickly back on the up at Randwick last time and that form looks strong; clearly the one to beat.
Sticking with the progressive PLAQUETTE here for James Cummings and James McDonald. She is a mare firmly on the upgrade judging by her latest win and her previous form stacks up so she looks one to keep firmly on side. She should strip fitter now and has plenty going for her. Axe doesn’t have as much experience as the selection but did run well when third last time so has to be feared if stepping forward again. Hulk also ran well when last seen finishing second at Canterbury and again any improvement on that would put him in the mix here. Probably still find one or two too good though. Al Man Haha is consistent so shouldn’t be completely discounted. Hard to see anything else threatening.
Autralian Daily Double
The Australian Daily Double consists of both the NAP and NB and is a great way of covering our two best bets of the night to maximise profit. They run at Murray Bridge and Canterbury Park on Wednesday morning.
