Lingfield 5.30 Little Rollright (6/4)
Dutch Art filly who shaped with plenty of ability on debut when finishing third at Salisbury, faring best of those ridden prominently; sets the standard on that run and with improvement to come she should be opening her account here.
It’s a mouthwatering day ahead and I know our NAP today doesn’t run in any of the top races but given how much promise LITTLE ROLLRIGHT showed on debut she has to be one of my strongest bets this afternoon. She was only run down late on and I think the two that finished ahead of her were the right horses. The winner chased home Isabella Giles on her next start before finding the May Hill too hot. The second chased home Cloudbridge before opening her account last month so the form stacks up. Positive tactics are likely to be adopted again and she could run these ragged under Sean Levey. She’ll know a lot more now and can improve too so will be hard to peg back. Bellazada was slowly away but kept on nicely for third on debut and is probably the main danger.

Chester 3.45 Riffaa Wonder (7/4)
Promising colt by Kodiac who showed promise amidst greenness on debut at Goodwood before improving to win readily at Thirsk last month; opening mark looks fair and with further gains likely he should make it two from three.
I’m surprised RIFFAA WONDER isn’t shorter here as he impressed last time winning well. He will have more to offer now pitched into a nursery and is comfortably the one to beat for me. A mark of 78 looks perfectly fair and he can keep progressing as he gains experience. Selected got off the mark at Ripon in July and wasn’t disgraced last time so has to be feared back at this trip. Dark Illusion is the other danger. We were with this colt at Bath last month and he did it well on that occasion. I’m not massively keen on form from that track though and this looks tougher so he’ll have to find more if he is to trouble the selection. I do expect him to finish second though as looks better than the rest. Zaman Jameel has shown definite promise but this is tough.
