NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE US NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 8 AT BELMONT ON THURSDAY NIGHT!
Race 8 Belmont 9.47 Ballagh Rocks (1/1)
A lot to like about the way he won over track and trip last month, tracking the speed through before proving too strong in the straight; leading contender off the back of that and looks a good bet to follow up tonight.
Winston’s Chance will come out later as this is set to be run on the turf so expect BALLAGH ROCKS to go off a short price. He won in good style over C&D last time and a similar effort should see him back in the winners enclosure this evening. He had ran two big races prior to getting his head in front so is clearly thriving right now. French recruit Zarkallani could emerge as the main danger but he does come here with a bit to prove so may be best watched on this occasion especially against an in-form rival like the selection. Expert and Dark Storm are also set to be scratched so Abiding Star may be the value to run into a place. I’ll be disappointed if the favourite doesn’t take this.

Race 2 Woodbine 7.49 Calling Bear (2/1)
Improving as he gains experience and ran his best race to date when second over 6f here at the start of the month bumping into a useful yardstick; can keep progressing and looks the one to beat in this field.
The progressive CALLING BEAR looks worth keeping safe at Woodbine tonight. This gelding by Kentucky Bear is on the upgrade judging by his latest second and if he steps forward again he will make the breakthrough. Bullet Speed has more experience to draw upon and did run well when second last time but I think the favourite has it in him to improve past him so is readily selected. The pair could end up fighting it out but a big run from Under City Lights wouldn’t surprise at a price. He wasn’t beaten far last time and may well be worth an each way saver at around 12/1. Tall Water and Conchy Joe are fairly prominent in the market but I’d be happy to oppose both. The latter is making his debut.
Evening Double
The Evening Double consists of both the NAP & NB and is a great way of covering our two best bets of the night to maximise profit. They run at Woodbine and Belmont on Thursday night.
