NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN THE OPENER AT CHELTENHAM ON SUNDAY!
Cheltenham 1.15 The Big Breakaway (10/11)
Expensive point recruit who won two from three over hurdles with sole defeat coming when fourth in the Ballymore behind Envoi Allen; built to be a chaser and should win this before going onto better things; exciting prospect.
Can’t wait to see THE BIG BREAKAWAY out again for Colin Tizzard. He was anticipated to make his return at Chepstow last month but connections decided to put him on hold until now. The yard have turned a corner so that will be reassuring. He has the size and scope to make a chaser and he has the potential to go right to the top. I just think the Ballymore came a bit too soon for him to be seen to best effect and even so he wasn’t disgraced in fourth. He is strongly fancied to make a winning start over fences and remains open to considerable improvement. Soldier Of Love is a solid yardstick and should give him most to think about. The Butcher Said has been in good form and looks best of the rest.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS AT FONTWELL ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON!
Fontwell 12.25 Lord Baddesley (6/5)
Made an impressive start over hurdles winning head in cheat over C&D despite showing signs of greenness; sure to improve with that under his belt and looks well placed to make it 2-2; likely to be ridden patiently.
I’m quite surprised LORD BADDESLEY isn’t shorter here as he impressed me over track and trip last time and is open to plenty of improvement off the back of that. He still looked a bit clueless when in front so is far from the finished article. Lord Accord won a bumper over C&D in September and followed that up with a winning start over hurdles last month. He is the obvious danger and has to be feared but I think the selection is the better long-term prospect and we’ll be hoping he can win the battle today. Furkash certainly has a future and isn’t entirely ruled out in this small field scenario but he needs more on what we’ve seen. Should come into his own going up in trip in time.
Daily Double
The Daily Double consists of both the NAP and NB and is a great way of covering our two best bets of the day to maximise profit. They run at Fontwell and Cheltenham on Sunday afternoon.
