NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS OVER JUMPS AT WINCANTON ON TUESDAY AFTERNOON!
Wincanton 1.35 Sizeable Sam (11/8)
Good looking sort who showed real promise when runner-up on debut in a bumper here before going one better at Warwick; shaped with plenty of encouragement when second on hurdle bow here last month; hard to beat getting weight.
This looks all about the unexposed SIZEABLE SAM here. This son of Black Sam Bellamy showed an abundance of promise in bumpers before putting in a big run to finish second on hurdles debut here last month. That was his first start for some 285 days so he should tighten up physically from the run and can improve too given it was his first attempt over obstacles. The winner Jeremy Pass looks a nice type for Paul Nicholls so the form is rock solid. He receives weight from main market rivals Here Comes McCoy and Furkash and that only further strengthens his claim. Rogue It was far from disgraced back from a year and a half off the track at Uttoxeter and may emerge as the main danger.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS AT CATTERICK ON TUESDAY AFTERNOON!
Catterick 2.25 Airgead Suas (13/8)
Talented mare who comes here chasing a hat-trick following two impressive wins at Exeter and Catterick; showed a good attitude under pressure before keeping on strongly last time and remains unexposed over staying trips.
A 7lb rise makes things tougher again but AIRGEAD SUAS is a mare on the up and she could have lots more to come as her stamina is drawn out. She stayed on strongly to win again at Catterick last time and if she runs to that sort of level again here she will be the one they all have to beat again. She has a great attitude for the game which can count for plenty in these sorts of races. Maison D’Or is a past C&D winner but he was only fourth to the selection last time and while he should run his race as his form stacks up I don’t see him reversing that. Oscar Clouds will do better at some point but this looks a tough ask on handicap debut going up to this sort of trip for the first time.
