Sunday’s Best Bets
BACK TO BACK FOR THE NAP? A much quieter day ahead on Sunday with Bangor abandoned. Racing from Thurles, Fakenham and Southwell. The Daily Double pays 3/1 PLUS we have a 28/1 Mega Acca!
Scroll down to find our most confident selections (NAP & NB) PLUS race-by-race picks for every race across all THREE meetings.
NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) WON YESTERDAY AND RUNS AT SOUTHWELL ON SUNDAY!
Southwell 3.15 Social City (11/8)
Really turned a corner lately showing a great attitude to get up on the line at Lingfield last month; backed that up down in trip at Wolverhampton before staying on strongly here last time, eased down; hard to oppose.
It’s hard to get away from SOCIAL CITY here for Tony Carroll. This son of Cityscape has thrived since his stamina has been drawn out and he put in a career best on this surface last time. He is turned out quickly under a penalty but is hard to oppose on what we’ve seen recently. If he turns up in the same form under Cieren Fallon then quite simply he will win this. Mr Carbonator is a consistent sort and he deserved to get his head back in front last time. He has been nudged up 4lb though and comes up against a largely unexposed rival at this distance. Should run well but will need to be at his very best to follow up. Lady Camelot is probably best of the rest but is on a long losing run.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS AT THURLES ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON!
Thurles 2.00 Gauloise (11/8)
Exciting filly who made a very taking start winning impressively on debut for this yard on first time over hurdles here last month; jumped accurately on that occasion and is open to any amount of improvement so should win this.
Sayce Gold is well regarded and she landed a bit of a gamble last time so she is respected but GAULOISE could be out of the ordinary. She won in the style of a very progressive filly last time and could have tons more to come. She definitely falls into the ‘could be anything’ bracket right now. This test looks ideal and I think she’ll remain unbeaten for Willie Mullins. Sayce Gold does look the biggest danger down in trip chasing a four-timer. Kapard is 2-2 so while this is much tougher she still has to be respected bringing unbeaten form to the table. It’s a race with strength in depth as both Mighty Blue and Anna Bunina are entitled to run well too but the fav could be a cut above this bunch.
