Leopardstown 1.15 Concertista (1/1)
Smart mare who proved too good for rivals on return winning a Grade 2 at Fairyhouse last month; sure to improve and looks set to land the hat-trick; only has to repeat that form to see this bunch off.
It’s really hard to look past CONCERTISTA here. She powered clear to win the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March and backed that up with a convincing win on return at Fairyhouse last month. She’s entitled to improve on that first start for 261 days and should have these covered. Stablemate Buildmeupbuttercup is a likeable type and she comes here on a winning spree so could be the main danger. Black Tears is a strong travelling type who is also entitled to respect. However this is run though I expect the favourite to have them covered. Her Festival win was so impressive and she can continue to dominate this division.

Newbury 3.15 Star Gate (5/2)
Expensive purchase who remains unbeaten under Rules making it 2-2 impressively at Sandown earlier this month, leaving his 2 rivals standing in testing ground; improving all the time and one to keep firmly on side.
This is a good race but I was quite surprised to see Bravemansgame favourite. He has done well since finishing second on hurdles debut but his form isn’t the strongest and in STAR GATE he is meeting a horse with serious potential. The latter showed a really smart turn of foot to leave them standing last time and with more to come he should win again. Does He Know landed the hat-trick at Cheltenham last month and is entitled to go well. He’s a horse I like so I’ll be hoping he can finish second but Wilde About Oscar might have something to say about that. The Skelton’s are red-hot and like the selection he has big potential and my gut feeling is he will be the one to give Star Gate a race.
