THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 2 AT GRAFTON ON MONDAY MORNING!
Race 2 Grafton 3.10 Charice (10/11)
Improving mare who caught the eye running well when third over this track and trip last month and stepped forward again when aided just a head last time; penny really dropping now and looks set to make the breakthrough.
This won’t take a great deal of winning so CHARICE looks by far and away the most likely winner to me. This mare has gradually been getting the hang of things and she ran her best race to date when second last time. She is entitled to step forward again and if she does then quite simply she wins. It’s no surprise to see her odds contracting as she ticks plenty of boxes especially in comparison to some of these. Power Runner is second fav but she hasn’t been screaming out that her turn is near and while she is the most likely winner I’ll be surprised if she runs down the favourite. Frida’s Time was only seventh on debut and is going to need to step forward to have any sort of chance here.

THE AUSSIE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 2 AT MILDURA OVERNIGHT!
Race 2 Mildura 5.00 Sparkup (1/1)
Promising type who has knocked hard on the door the last twice; hampered on return so did well to get as close as he did and then bettered that denied a neck last time; obvious chance which will be enhanced if he breaks on terms.
With both Beautox and Powerful Flyer likely to push forward this could set up perfectly for SPARKUP as he looks to finally open his account. He has a tendency to be slowly away but if there’s a good gallop on that might not be an issue as he will look to get settled early before winding up strongly in the closing stages. He ran a cracker last time and given this looks easier company if he matches that form that should be enough to see him break his duck. Beautox is one of the pace angles so she might take some pegging back but with pace pressure from the rank outsider Powerful Flyer that might just soften her up to be claimed in the closing stages. Perficere is likely to need the experience on debut.

The Australian Daily Double consists of both the NAP and NB and is a great way of covering our two best bets of the night to maximise profit. They run at Grafton and Mildura in the early hours of Monday morning.
