NAP – Best selection of the evening

THE NAP (BEST BET) WON AGAIN YESTERDAY AND IS NOW CHASING A HAT-TRICK!

Newbury 2.45 Chindit (2/1)

Smart colt who looked a horse going places winning his first 3 starts as a 2yo including the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster; well held on final start in the Dewhurst but had excuses and can get firmly back on track now.

Some really good racing on Sunday and Richard Hannon looks to have a great chance of winning the Greenham with CHINDIT. This Wootton Bassett colt has some really strong form to his name as a 2yo and given he had excuses in the Dewhurst he looks the one to beat on return. He didn’t really handle the track at Newmarket on his final start and the testing ground was against him too. Even accounting for all that he was running well but in hindsight had too much to do and looked to get hampered as well. With conditions ideal here and the yard firing I’m expecting a big run here. I think the market has it right with Alkumait as the danger. He won the Mill Reef here but does need to settle better.

NAP

Newbury 2.45 Chindit (2/1)

Ayr 2.25 Milkwood (11/4)

Likeable type who ran a cracker when third to Belfast Banter in the County at Cheltenham last month, losing a shoe in the process; form franked since with the winner following up at Aintree; up 2lb but this looks a great opportunity.

Given MILKWOOD took it up sooner than ideal and lost a shoe it was a monstrous run to go so close in the County at the Cheltenham Festival last month and with that form well advertised since he is hard to oppose here. The winner Belfast Banter followed up at Aintree and he had the likes of Anna Bunina and Thyme White well held back in eighth and twelfth. If they go a good honest pace here I can only see one outcome. Calico has won 2 from 3 over hurdles and is obviously hugely unexposed. He is the danger but will need to improve to reach the level of the selection and that still might not be enough. Tommy’s Oscar has impressed but is up in grade and fast ground might not be ideal.
