THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 6 AT ASCOT ON WEDNESDAY MORNING!
Race 6 Ascot 9.25 Blackwater Bay (11/10)
Promising type who made an encouraging return finishing third over track and trip last month; should do better if getting a strong pace to aim at; fitter now and looks the one they all have to beat if all goes to plan.
This looks a glaring opportunity for BLACKWATER BAY to get himself back in the winners enclosure. He has looked promising in 6 starts to date and his third on return was encouraging. He should strip fitter now and given he has scope to improve again he should have too much for these rivals. I’m expecting Darcele and Fire Goddess to go forward and the selection should get a nice toe in before proving too strong in the run to the line. Street Fair has been running well so looks one of the dangers. Miss Maranta is a mare with ability but she’s only won 1 from 17 starts so is probably vulnerable for win purposes again. Zip Zam Zoom is another who looks solid for a place.

Race 6 Warrnambool 5.05 Saunter Boy (5/4)
Talented sort who has 7 wins to his name and was back to his best winning at Pakenham last month; that form makes strong reading and if he backs that up there’s no reason why he won’t go in again given his overall record.
It’s hard to look past SAUNTER BOY here. He impressed winning last time and if he backs that performance up he should win again. Instigator is the obvious threat as he won last time but that was just his third win from 33 starts which isn’t exactly encouraging. Robbie’s Star is more exposed than most but he certainly needs to be respected in a race like this. Britannicus has been running well and also comes into the reckoning especially if he gets this run to suit. The selection should win though if repeating that latest effort. The Statesman ran a cracker behind the fav on penultimate start but failed to back that up last time so is best watched right now.
