Leopardstown 3.35 Sir Gerhard (6/5)
Exciting hurdler who made a perfect start winning by 8 lengths over C&D on Boxing Day, very much learning on the job; sure to improve from that initial effort and while this is tougher good chance to make it 2-2 here.
A decent renewal with strength in depth here but I have no doubt SIR GERHARD is the star quality on show. The Champion Bumper winner made a pleasing start over hurdles winning comfortably over track and trip and given his jumping is likely to be a lot slicker now he should have too many gears for this field. Mullins will be hoping he can win this convincingly en route to the Supreme next month. My Mate Mozzie had looked promising before going down narrowly to Statuaire. Not a lot splits that pair again and they are both dangers but I think they’ll help the selection settle and give him a nice trail in. Three Stripe Life bumped into Mighty Potter here last time and is also greatly respected.

Kempton 3.25 Old Port (11/8)
Progressive son of The Gurkha who took form up a notch to get in front close home up to a mile on penultimate start; even better up in trip last month winning convincingly; 9lb hike but more to come as his stamina is drawn out.
The hat-trick seeking OLD PORT looks hard to oppose at Kempton on Sunday. He won impressively at Wolverhampton last time and while a 9lb rise is warranted this extra yardage should be a catalyst for further progression and if it is he will be hard to beat. The danger is likely fellow last time out winner Prince Of Harts. He made virtually all over C&D last month and will be particularly dangerous if they allow him to dictate again despite a 3lb rise. Alternative Fact has failed to shine over hurdles in two starts recently and could enjoy coming back on the Flat so also has to enter calculations but from a win point of view may well prove vulnerable once more.
Daily Double
The Daily Double consists of both the NAP and NB and is a great way of covering our two best bets of the day to maximise profit. They run at Kempton and Leopardstown on Sunday afternoon.
