Progressed rapidly this season bringing up the hat-trick in good style at Lingfield earlier this week; carries a penalty but still ahead of the handicapper and should take all the beating again with Ben Curtis up now.
With the promise of more to come SIMPLY SONDHEIM gets a confident vote to make it 4 wins in a row for George Boughey. He still looked very raw winning at Hamilton last month and he has improved with every run winning at Leicester and then convincingly again at Lingfield last time. He is clearly taking his racing well and I think he’ll prove too strong for this field. Sir Min I’ve had in my notes since finishing fifth at Lingfield and he hasn’t done a lot wrong finishing an improved third at Thirsk and then runner-up at Wolverhampton last time. He should run well but again just looks to be bumping into one. Copperknob shaped nicely behind Atrium at Ascot and looks comfortably best of the rest.

York 2.30 Explicit (9/4)
Improving colt who built on that encouraging run at Hamilton to win convincingly at Musselburgh last week, making all the running; likely he’ll be ridden aggressively again and should take a fair bit of catching.
Expert Eye colt EXPLICIT looks one to keep on side now he knows what it takes to win. I thought he did it with a bit to spare at Musselburgh despite the neck margin. The second Cuban Rock is another improver so I wouldn’t be quick to knock the form. He should progress again stepping up to 6f for the first time and I’m struggling to find any chinks in his armour. Duchray struggled at Musselburgh last time but his earlier form was quite good so he might not be far away if bouncing back but then he does need to prove himself over this extra furlong as well. Teatime Tipple bumped into Star Of Lady M at Ripon and if progressing may well emerge as the main danger to the selection.
