MY AUSTRALIAN NAP RUNS IN RACE 7 AT ROYAL RANDWICK ON SATURDAY!

Race 7 Royal Randwick 6.15 Zaaki (10/11)

Smart horse who has won 12 from 35 starts including 2 of his last 4; only third in the Doomben Cup when last seen but freshened up since and looks primed for a big run here; should take all the beating.

I’m looking forward to seeing ZAAKI back out at Randwick on Saturday. We know this horse well now and he is a very talented individual. I think it was quite clear to see he wasn’t at his best when last seen and given time since he can have a profitable backend campaign starting here. He is the most likely winner and should stamp his class on this field. Profondo is a young horse on the up and looks the danger. He raced wide and without cover when third on return and should be spot on for this now. Looks the one to finish second to the favourite. Converge blew out last time but his previous form would see him thereabouts. Either way he’ll be found wanting if the real Zaaki turns up here.

Race 5 Moonee Valley 5.55 Coolangatta (5/4)

Promising filly who has won 3 from 4 and far from disgraced when last seen at the top level in the Slipper at Rosehill; open to further improvement and looks a filly to keep firmly on side today and going forward.

With more to come COOLANGATTA gets a confident vote to make a winning return at The Valley on Saturday. That was a decent run in the Slipper on final start last season and she can make a winning return here. She has only had 4 starts winning 3 of them so definitely brings the most potential in this field. In The Congo has won 3 from 10 but disappointed somewhat when down the field at Randwick last time so will need to bounce back to upset this favourite. Zoustyle has 9 wins from 16 but again went off the boil when nearer last than first at Eagle Farm back in May. Rothfire was a good third behind Alligator Blood and also enters the reckoning but this is a very hot race so he’ll need to find more again.
