Haydock 1.30
Quite an open race to kick off the card at Haydock with ROGUE SPIRIT looking like a worthy favourite. Back down to this trip should see him at his best with form figures of 1213 over 5 furlongs. He ran really well in a decent looking race at York over 6 furlongs last time out. This looks a tad easier and he will likely go very close here.
Al Dasim is interesting on his first run for George Boughey. He has solid form over this trip and will be sure to have his say. Of the rest Queen Of Uplands will be challenging for a place at least so is worth a close look.
Newmarket 1.50
Crystal Caprice is progressing nicely and given her trainer Sir Michael Stoute who excels with these types she has to be seriously respected but she has been well found in the market and I do think there is value on offer in opposing. I’ve liked what I’ve seen from WHITEBEAM and if she improves again she may well serve it up to the favourite. The latter still looked very raw when winning at Newbury back in May and then did so well to follow up given how hard she pulled next time.
She actually had Crystal Caprice in behind that day but obviously that filly has took big steps forward since. She then won at Haydock following a short break and looked better than ever. The second Thunder Legend has won by 5 and a half lengths since so the form has been nicely franked. She is up 6lb but I have her marked down as a filly to keep firmly on side now and going forward.
This race looks to have so much pace in it I feel it could set it up nicely for FODEN. He is lightly raced as a 3 year old with his sole run this season a win at Beverley. That form has worked out really well and I think he has plenty to offer off a mark of just 81. He will be coming fast and late and hopefully sweep by them all.
There is some quality horses in here including Moon Watch who gives the selection plenty of weight. The main danger could prove to be Delorean who like the selection is on a fairly lenient mark. He is likely to go off fav for this though so little value in backing him given how competitive it looks.
Newmarket 2.25
Eternal Pearl is clearly on a roll at present having won at this level in France last time. This looks more competitive to me though and I prefer SEA SILK ROAD. She beat the latter in the Height Of Fashion Stakes back in May and while she wasn’t at her best beaten into fourth in the Prix de la Nonette Stakes last month I expect her to bounce back here. I’m quite surprised she isn’t favourite for this.
Eternal Pearl is likely the danger but Voodoo Queen is still a filly I can see progressing so also deserves a second look in the betting at bigger odds. Royal Scandal is 2 from 3 and is another one that could run well.
Haydock 2.40
In what looks a wide open race with all of the 10 runners in with a chance it could pay to side with FLAMBOROUGH at a bigger price. He has had a relatively light campaign with just 2 runs but his last run was a big step forward. The extra couple of furlongs should suit and with the ground in favour I think he is massively overpriced.
Baltic Bird was last seen running behind the classy Eldar Eldarov at Royal Ascot and could be a big player at this level. Another one that could go very well at a nice price is Nova Legend who stays really well and can make his presence felt.
Newmarket 3.00
A really competitive renewal of the Rockfel and I like unbeaten Kingman filly COMMISSIONING for John and Thady Gosden. She impressed winning head in chest on the July Course here 8 weeks ago and with natural improvement could make it 2-2 here. She is entered in the bet365 Fillies’ Mile so connections clearly feel they have a horse with a lot of potential.
Olivia Maralda won at Newbury and then ran a cracker when a close-up second to Meditate in Ireland. She has the best form on offer so definitely has a big shout. Dance In The Grass let us down in the May Hill but if she bounces back she would also be worth a second look.
Newmarket 3.35
Just the 6 runners here but it does look very competitve still. MUTASAABEQ was last seen running behind Jadoomi who will be running Group 1s before the season is over. He ran really keen that day which probably cost him but still finished 3 lengths behind the winner. If first-time blinkers have the desired effect he will be bang there.
Tempus is the danger, arriving here on a 4-timer. He has done well in Group 3s and if stepping up to this level the way you would expect he likely goes close. Pogo would have had a squeak but is out now.
