World Cup – Germany v Japan Preview

There is a lot of young talent emerging in this Germany squad and it will be interesting to see if they can apply it on the biggest stage at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha. I’m expecting him to line up in his usual 4-2-3-1 system with Muller leading the line. Gnabry, Musiala and Hofmann supporting in behind should cause Japan plenty of problems so expect goals.

Germany and Japan are meeting for the first time at the FIFA World Cup. Germany are unbeaten in their two previous encounters winning one and drawing one both of which were international friendlies.

Japan did score in all but one of their four games at the last World Cup and can be a threat coming forward. Arsenal’s Takehiro Tomiyasu partners Maya Yoshida at the heart of the defence and I do feel they have a stronger squad than when competing in Russia so should give Germany a game here.
