Race 4 Corowa 4.50 Last Ditch Effort (best price 10/11)
Good looking chestnut who was well backed on debut and looked unlucky missing by just a nose at Wagga earlier this month; sure to improve from that initial effort and definitely the one to beat in this field.
With a run under his belt and armed with a good draw here it is hard to look past LAST DITCH EFFORT at Corowa on Monday morning. He won’t need to improve a great deal to win this and is a standout as the betting is suggesting. Red Cut Rock looked promising initially but has failed to back that up especially the last twice where he has been poor. If bouncing back he might emerge as the danger but hard to recommend currently. Royston Head makes his debut here but is expected to come on for the experience. The rest all look pretty limited with perhaps Kingzan the best of them but he’ll need to leave that reappearance run behind to feature here. Great opportunity for the favourite.

Race 6 Dubbo 5.50 Hammoon Money (best price 6/4)
Likeable mare who has improved with every run and caught the eye finishing half a length back in second at Dubbo on return last time; more to come for sure and looks well placed to make the breakthrough.
I’m expecting HAMMOON MONEY to push forward from a wide gate and I think she’ll try and make all the running here. She is getting better with experience and there really shouldn’t be too many excuses here. Ohana Joy continues to knock on the door finishing runner-up the last 3 times and she should give her honest running once more. Camp Cove is somehow still a maiden after 39 starts and while she continues to run to a decent level it is hard to see her finally getting her head in front here especially if the selection keeps improving with each start. Edith’s Joy ran second at Warren and then third at Narromine and a repeat of that might see her sneak a place but hard to see her winning this.
