MY AUSTRALIAN NAP RUNS IN RACE 5 AT IPSWICH ON THURSDAY MORNING!
Race 5 Ipswich 5.35 Northuldra (best price 7/4)
Good looking chestnut mare who improved to get her head in front convincingly at Beuadesert last month and then followed up showing a good attitude to prevail at Gatton last time; can improve further yet.
My winning run on the Aussie NAP came to an end overnight but hopefully I can get it back on track quickly as I head to Ipswich on Thursday. NORTHULDRA is eyeing up a hat-trick after impressing at Beaudesert and following up at Gatton. This is tougher but she has a good draw and can improve again so is definitely the one to beat. Pentito won at Sunshine Coast and then ran well at Eagle Farm but was only midfield at Doomben last time and will need more to upset the selection here. Regal Edition was a good second on reappearance at Toowoomba and if building on that might emerge as the main danger to the favourite. Russian Warrior is likely best of the rest and will strip fitter for her return.

Race 5 Gosford 5.15 Par Five (best price 15/8)
Progressive form capping off last campaign with a convincing win at Scone back in the summer; open to improvement and looks well placed to make a winning return here; worth keeping on side against these.
This is winnable so it looks a great chance for PAR FIVE to follow up that Scone victory. He looks on an upward trajectory now and given this lacks strength in depth I think he can win this before going on to better things in time. First Peoples is more exposed with 1 win from 9 starts but ran well when second at Taree and needs to be respected. Geewiz Johnny has a similar profile to the latter and performed creditably at this track last time so is another one likely fighting it out for a place behind the selection. Elleves looked promising initially but hasn’t really gone on with it and was disappointing at Kembla Grange last time. Oxford Vision has a habit of finishing second but was poor last time.
