Race 6 Ascot 7.45 Alsephina (best price 1/1)
Good looking chestnut mare who remains unbeaten at this track making it a perfect 5-5 last month; improving with every run and if in the same form here is going to be hard to beat again so worth keeping safe.
With 8 wins from 10 overall and a perfect record of 5-5 at this track ALSEPHINA is again the one to beat at Ascot on Sunday. She moves up further in trip and that should only suit further so no surprise to see her a warm order for this. The Velvet Queen has won 2 of her last 3 now and is a very decent yardstick so looks the main danger. Sentimental Queen is proven over the trip and has won 5 times at this track now so shouldn’t be entirely dismissed either but she is going to need to be at her best to handle the favourite and even then it might not be good enough. Playing Marika is exposed but has won 9 times in her career and didn’t shape badly when third last time so also has to be respected.

Race 4 Flemington 4.00 Vermentino (best price 6/4)
Ran on strongly from off the pace to make it a perfect 3-3 at Sandown last month and with further improvement to come should be able to remain unbeaten here; expected to prove a cut above this field.
Expecting VERMENTINO to remain unbeaten at Flemington on Sunday. He won really well last time and this slight drop back in trip won’t bother him. Sigh is second favourite in here with 3 wins from 5 overall and she will keep the favourite honest. Propice was a good second at Sandown last time behind Sigh and is running to that sort of level again likely won’t be all that far away. Stripped Back has won 4 from 8 and is 1-1 over the trip but is as big as 7/1 so that tells you about the quality on show. He should run well but strength in depth here. Dazzling Lucy ran well here last time and is a good looking type who also has a bright future. This will throw up a ton of winners going forward.
