NAP – My best tip of the day

Chepstow 2.40 Crebilly (best price 11/8)

Promising type who shaped with encouragement when third in a bumper on debut at Huntingdon last year; improved sent over hurdles to win impressively at Newcastle last month; sure to progress again.

I was really impressed with the way CREBILLY got on top and then sauntered clear on hurdles debut at Newcastle last month. The second Ballabawn was a substantial gamble on the day but couldn’t live with the selection in the closing stages. He is open to stacks of improvement given it is just his second start over hurdles and I fully expect him to go and follow up here. Libberty Hunter bumped into American Sniper when beaten a length here back in November but disappointed somewhat when a distant third to Knowsley Road last time. If he gets back on track he could be the danger. Estacas beat Chianti Classico in a bumper on debut but might need this experience now sent over hurdles.

NB – My Next or second best tip of the day

MY NEXT BEST RUNS ON THE AW AT SOUTHWELL ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON!

Southwell 1.30 Celtic Champion (best price 13/8)

Good looking grey colt who improved to win readily at Salisbury back in the summer; far from disgraced on nursery debut when fifth at Chester when last seen; likely to have improved again since so big shout.

Good chance for CELTIC CHAMPION to make it 2 wins from his last 3 starts. He was a convincing winner at Salisbury back in the summer and wasn’t disgraced when fifth at Chester on final start. With scope to improve again he should prove better than a mark of just 85. Tenjin won at Kempton back in October and has run creditably in defeat the last twice so might be the biggest danger to the selection. Harry Brown ended a frustrating spell to score at Chelmsford but hasn’t been seen since. He runs on this surface for the first time and might have more to come so shouldn’t be entirely discounted. Colnago is yet to win but does have solid form in the book so might go better than his odds suggest.
