Race 3 Ballina 3.45 Jimmy Giggle (best price 4/5)

Promising type who was well backed on debut before finishing third at Toowoomba back in November; improved to get within a length of victory over shorter at this track last month; hard to beat with more to come.

My NAP just keeps winning Down Under! I am now looking to land my TENTH WINNER FROM MY LAST ELEVEN SELECTIONS! I’ve decided to head to Ballina where JIMMY GIGGLE can justify favouritism for Lindsay Hatch and Andrew Mallyon. He is a warm order but that is with good reason as he got close last time and this step up in trip should see him go one better now. Mahomes remains a maiden after 32 attempts and is second favourite so that tells you about the lack of quality in the opposition here. Elmita is 0/9 and finished last at Gold Coast last month so plenty to prove too. King Tereus was poor on debut but should do better at some point. This really does lack any real quality.

Race 5 Gosford 6.35 Chipper (best price 7/4)

Improving with experience and looked good bolting up by 5 lengths at Wyong last month; now the penny has dropped he should be hard to beat as looks well placed to follow up; worth chancing against this field.

The most likely winner here is clearly CHIPPER as that was a dominant performance bolting up by 5 lengths at Wyong last month. He should keep improving with experience and is fully expected to go and follow up. I’ll Tell You Now is on a hat-trick after winning here last time. If he keeps progressing he will be the danger but he is a little more exposed than the selection. Big Happiness looked promising initially but has badly lost his way recently. These are calmer waters but hard to know what we’re going to get from him on debut Down Under. King Charming has won 2 from 6 and didn’t shape badly when fourth last time so might fare best of the rest. Hard to recommend much else in here.
