NAP – My best tip of the day
Southwell 2.35 Justcallmepete (best price 5/4)
Progressive since the blinkers have been applied bringing up a hat-trick of wins in good style over track and trip last week; 5lb penalty doesn’t look enough to anchor him so leading claims again here.
The four-timer may well be on the cards for the likeable JUSTCALLMEPETE at Southwell on Saturday. He has a terrific record over C&D winning 3 from 4 and did it with plenty to spare from a decent yardstick in Intervention last week. He has thrived since the blinkers have gone on and turned out quickly under a penalty it is no surprise to see him trading as favourite once more. Adeb made a winning return at Newcastle at the start of the month and looks the most obvious danger if building on that. Spirit Of Nguru has run well the last twice and was only beaten a length last time so could go well if handling the drop back down to 6f here. Intervention reopposes again but needs to find more somehow.

Lingfield 2.47 Al Agaila (best price 11/8)
Promising filly who had some eye-catching form last season and ran out an impressive winner on reappearance at Kempton last month; followed up over C&D last time, showing a smart turn of foot.
I’m keen to back AL AGAILA again here. This filly by Lope De Vega was very impressive over track and trip last time and with further improvement to come can bring up the hat-trick. She has always hinted at potentially being useful and looks to be fulfilling that potential now. She’ll likely be ridden forward so I don’t think there will be too many excuses. Morgan Fairy also clocked a career best to win over a mile here last month and if she can improve back up in trip she definitely would have to be feared. I actually think Purple Ribbon may be a greater danger though as she was denied just a neck over a mile and a half at Kempton and that is rock solid form. Back down in trip she should run well.
