NAP – My best tip of the day
Catterick 3.45 Git Maker (best price 7/4)
Promising type who won 3 from 4 over hurdles last season and gradually improved over fences this campaign bumping into a couple of good yardsticks at Sandown and Kelso before winning easily over C&D; should follow up.
There was lots to like about the way GIT MAKER opened his account over fences over C&D last time and with improvement a near certainty he looks to have found the right race to follow up in. He is a strong travelling type who was progressive over hurdles last season so I expect him to kick on in this sphere now. This trip seems to suit him well and I’m struggling to find many chinks in his armour. The obvious danger is Conquredalofeurope who ran well when runner-up at Wetherby on debut for Donald McCain and then acquitted himself well in a strong looking race at Haydock. This is easier but I still think more his required and the selection should be staying on the stronger.

Kempton 7.00 Dark Trooper (best price 2/1)
Improving with experience and despite looking far from the finished article he still managed to win with a bit up his hand at Southwell earlier this month; obviously open to further progress and should be winning again.
The step back up in trip looked the perfect move for DARK TROOPER as he scored readily at Southwell last time. The runner-up Serenity Rose won next time out so the form has been franked since. He still looked a bit clueless on that occasion running green when asked to settle the race so you’d expect him to take another step forward. If he does that would likely make him difficult to beat here. Dyed In The Wool left previous form behind to win handsomely at Newcastle last time and if proving as effective over this extra furlong will be the obvious danger to the selection. Congresbury is being brought along patiently and back down in trip on handicap bow might fare best of the rest in here.
