NAP – My best tip of the day
Newcastle 5.00 Comedian Leader (best price 11/4)
Improving filly who clocked a career best making it two wins from her last three over this trip at Southwell last time; carries a penalty but on an upward trajectory so looks sure to take all the beating again here.
With the promise of more to come it is hard to oppose COMEDIAN LEADER here. This isn’t a great race and she is getting better all the time. She was firmly in control last time and is bidding to make it 3 wins from her last 4 starts now. Billy Loughnane is riding out his skin and claims a valuable 5lb off her back and under patient tactics once more I expect her to pick them all up late. Attrazione impressed winning over a mile at Southwell on penultimate start but wasn’t as good when well backed up in trip at Wolverhampton. Back down to 7f here she could be the biggest danger. Trabajo Detecho finally got his head in front over 6f here last week but was held by the selection before that so has work to do.

Southwell 3.20 Alafdhal (best price 11/4)
Progressive son of Lope De Vega who impressively made it 4 wins in a row over this trip at Wolverhampton last week, showing a smart turn of foot; turned out quickly under a penalty but still hard to oppose.
With 5 wins from his last 6 runs ALAFDHAL is a confident selection to go in again at Southwell on Thursday. He clocked a career best last time and did it with plenty in hand. He carries a penalty here but is clearly thriving and is effectively 3lb well-in. Kevin Stott gets the leg up again and he should carry top-weight to victory. Walking On Clouds has won 3 of his last 4 now and is the obvious danger. He just idled in the closing stages at Newcastle but was good value for that win and should put up some resistance at least. Of the rest Lord Paramount has first-time cheekpieces but was disappointing at Wolverhampton and needs to bounce back dropping back down to 6f here.
