MY AUSTRALIAN NAP RUNS IN RACE 3 AT SANDOWN ON SATURDAY MORNING!
Race 3 Sandown 2.45 Barber (best price 2/1)
Unbeaten colt who has looked potentially useful winning both starts to date at Randwick and Rosehill; said to have improved plenty since last seen and fully expected to win this before being targeted at bigger pots down the line.
There is a strong word going around for BARBER as he is reportedly being targeted at the Blue Diamond Stakes at the end of the month for which he is a 5/1 chance now (from around 16’s). This is clearly his prep run and they will want him to win this and head into that big race unbeaten. He could be very smart and I’m keen to keep him on side. He will be ridden confidently and hopefully his class gets him home in front at the finishing line. The second favourite Brave Halo also looks promising having won his first 3 starts. He has more to come too so looks the danger. Little Brose is another one with a bright future and he should run a big race perhaps without seriously threatening the principals. One to look out for going forward too.

Race 9 Randwick 6.20 Norwegian Bliss (best price 5/2)
Talented mare who has won 7 times from just 8 starts and tasted defeat for the first time at Caulfield when last seen, missing less than a length; given time since and should be too strong for this field on return.
I’m looking forward to seeing NORWEGIAN BLISS back and hopefully she can make a winning return. She has trialled well and should cross over from a wide draw and prove tough to catch. Swats That has gone off the boil somewhat but she would still be capable so has to be feared. Written Beauty is 6 wins from 19 now but needs to leave that Flemington run last time behind to get competitive. Kir Royale is unexposed with 4 wins from 9 and impressed at Rosehill so could surprise a few. Definitely one to look out for. Jump The Broom is 4 from 7 at the trip and ran well when second at Geelong but this is another step up so needs more again. Of the rest Larkspur Run is a decent yardstick and she surprised a few winning at Flemington so might be a decent place bet.
