MY AUSTRALIAN NAP RUNS IN RACE 7 AT NEWCASTLE ON MONDAY MORNING!
Race 7 Newcastle 6.30 King’s Duty (best price 6/4)
Promising type who created a good impression winning convincingly on debut over C&D last month; went forward and dictated so likely to follow up here under similar tactics.
Not a great deal of strength in depth in this so it looks a good opportunity for KING’S DUTY to go 2-2. I don’t think he is any great shakes but he did it with a bit to spare on debut and under similar tactics should be able to see this field off. Hamaki has just the 1 win from 12 and is second favourite so that tells you a lot about the lack of quality on show. He isn’t a bad yardstick though so should put up the most resistance. Jacquine Reward is more exposed but has to be respected on his best form. He ran well when second here on penultimate start and that form would make him a player. Of the rest Lady Fraulein might be in the mix for a place.

Race 6 Dubbo 6.10 Listen To The Band (best price 7/4)
Improving with experience and comes here at the top of his game now having won 3 of his last 4 starts; always doing enough last time and can still improve so most likely winner once more.
Great chance for LISTEN TO THE BAND to complete the hat-trick here. Another race that doesn’t look up to much and he has now won 3 of his last 4. He impressed last time and a repeat of that should see him come out on top. Mr Hussill is going the right way having won 4 from 14 and might threaten. Amulet Street looks promising initially but ran no race at Randwick last time. These are calmer waters obviously but he needs to get back on track in a big way to have a say here. Boom Boom Basil should leave that reappearance run behind in time and is actually my idea of the main danger as his Rosehill win on final start last campaign was fairly promising.
