NAP – My best tip of the day
Exeter 2.30 The Carpenter (best price 1/1)
Promising type who caught the eye going down just a length in a bumper at Navan a couple of years ago, looking clueless in the main; joined a powerful yard now and could clearly be an exciting horse now sent over hurdles.
Obviously taking a bit of a chance on one here in the shape of THE CARPENTER but they have been patient with this horse and he could have a bright future over jumps now. He was last seen back in March 2021 finishing an eye-catching second in a bumper in Ireland and has since joined Nicky Henderson. This looks a good starting point and I expect him to pass with flying colours. Off To A Flyer was quite a pricey individual too costing £180,000 after winning a point and he wasn’t disgraced at Kempton so if he improves up in trip he is definitely the danger. Seismic Wave didn’t show a huge amount in a bumper at Chepstow but is expected to do better now over hurdles.

Southwell 1.50 Walking On Clouds (best price 6/4)
Likeable sort who loves this track having won 3 times here already this season; won 4 of his last 6 now and doesn’t lack gears so drop back to the minimum could see him return to the winners enclosure again here.
Back at Southwell I’m expecting the likeable WALKING ON CLOUDS to be really tough to beat. He has been a winning machine this season especially at this track. He was only actually denied a head at Wolverhampton last time so even in defeat he posted another big effort. Off the same mark here dropping back down to the minimum trip I can see him justifying favouritism. Level Up clocked a career best to make it 2 wins from his last 3 at this track on Friday. Turned out quickly under a penalty if he handles the quick turnaround he could be the danger. Atiyah shaped a lot better than she had been when beaten just 2 and a half lengths at Chelmsford last time she could fare best of the rest.
