Thursday’s Best Tips
BUSY DAY COMING UP ON THURSDAY! Racing from Newcastle, Clonmel, Sandown, Leicester and on the AW at Chelmsford. Daily Double pays 6/1!
NAP – My best tip of the day
Clonmel 2.15 Hiddenvalley Lake (best price 6/4)
Unbeaten so far under Rules impressing with how he battled back to get on top on debut at Naas before following up impressively at Cork; open to further improvement and can win this before heading to the Albert Bartlett next month.
Henry De Bromhead often targets this race with a nice prospect having won it back in 2017 with Monalee and then again in 2018 with Chris’s Dream. He also had Shantreusse win it last year by 5 lengths so HIDDENVALLEY LAKE is of strong interest this time around. This horse is highly regarded and I loved the way he powered clear to win by 8 lengths at Cork. The second that day Cool Survivor is a horse I rate quite a bit and he franked the form to some extent running on well for fourth behind Good Land at the DRF. Even the fourth Letsbeclearaboutit has won at Punchestown by 22 lengths since. Connections have said he is being targeted at the Albert Bartlett next month so they’ll be hopeful he can come out on top here. Corbetts Cross is also going the right way and looks the obvious danger.
Sandown 2.25 You Wear It Well (best price 7/4)
Likeable mare who looked to be going places winning her first two starts over hurdles impressively; lost little in defeat bumping into Hermes Allen in the Challow when last seen, clear from the rest; more to come and hard to oppose.
I’m looking forward to seeing YOU WEAR IT WELL out again at Sandown on Thursday. She is a mare who still brings considerable potential to the table and she lost little in defeat chasing home Hermes Allen in the Challow. That horse is now favourite for the Ballymore at the Cheltenham Festival next month so it is red-hot form. She is open to further improvement especially over this trip and I’ll be disappointed if she doesn’t get back to winning ways. Flemensfirth mare Deeply Superficial looks the danger for Gordon Elliott. She looked promising winning at Galway before only managing fourth in a Grade 2 at Navan. That is strong form though so she should put up some resistance to the selection. The pair are expected to dominate as there form is just way too good for the rest of these even if they improve.
