Race 7 Dubbo 6.04 Melody Again (best price 4/5)

Exciting filly who created a big impression winning easily on debut at Scone back in November last year; given time since and sure to improve further so well placed to make it a perfect 2-2 here.

Hard to oppose MELODY AGAIN at Dubbo on Friday. She is a filly going places judging by the way she won on debut and with improvement a near certainty I have her a cut above this field. She will be waited with and as long as she gets the gaps she should be coming home best. No surprise to see her 4/5 at the time of writing and no shock if she goes off shorter than that. Justfour has knocked on the door recently but she does have a tendency of lugging in a bit and doesn’t look the easiest of rides. She might prove vulnerable again in this. Avalicious only has 1 win from 14 so she also needs more to upset the jolly. Speudosa is quite a big price but he might emerge as the main danger to the favourite having got his head in front at this track last time.

Race 5 Cairns 4.16 Sillman (best price 11/10)

Good looking mare who is eyeing up a hat-trick of wins after scoring convincingly here last month and then following up impressively from off the pace at Townsville; more to come and should win.

This looks a great opportunity for SILLMAN to make it 3-3 this campaign. The penny seems to have dropped for her this season and she is still improving so if she comes on from that Townsville win should have these rivals covered. Winds Of War won at this track last time and with confidence high now could be the danger. His form prior to that would have you a bit concerned though. Eagle Eye Star was down the field last month and has plenty to prove off the back of that. Loburn Lass is a decent yardstick and she might run better than her odds suggest but that run at Townsville last time leaves a little to prove despite this perhaps being easier. Mirror Illusion is unexposed and won at Quirindi last time but is in much deeper company than that now.
