Tough sort who impressed recording back-to-back wins at Ascot recently and knocked on the door the last twice; more to come over this trip and likely very hard to beat here.

There should be more to come from CASINO SEVENTEEN as his stamina is drawn out and it is no surprise to see him a warm order for this. It lacks strength in depth if you’re being honest so I think he does deserve to be as short as he is. He has won 6 from 27 but could still be open to improvement over this trip and gets a confident vote. No Apology is even more exposed but he is a good yardstick and he looks the danger having also run well the last twice. General Grant needs to better recent form but he remains fairly unexposed especially over this trip. Come Right Back might also get competitive but likely be found wanting late on.

Race 4 Donald 5.05 Coyote (best price 11/8)

Likeable type who looked a horse going places winning at Strathalbyn over a year ago; not gone on since but last twice runs not too bad and he can improve again so big shout.

This is the easiest race COYOTE would have contested for a while and he still brings enough potential to the table to think he should be a short price for this. He was beaten less than a length on return and then had excuses last time. He will be hitting peak fitness now and looks set to justify favouritism. Tatsuro is second favourite but he has just 1 win from 24 so I think that tells you about the lack of quality on show here. Panama Papers could run well as he seems to be coming back to form but again he only has 2 wins from 26 so while he might chase the selection home a place might be his best hope. Stately Star best of a mediocre rest.
