Epsom 2.00

This race is always wide open with the draw playing a big part. I am going to have an each way bet on a horse I quite like in BOBSLEIGH. He won nicely on debut when being slowly away at Brighton. He looked a classy sort with a patient ride making up ground late to win well. The time of the race looks good and if breaking well from a draw of 6 he could be a massive player.

Balon D’or looks best of those drawn low and is favourite at the time of writing. He won on debut and went close at Chester and rates the main danger. Haatem is clearly held in high regard after a nice win at Bath but needs a bit of luck to show his best from a draw of 8. Just inside him is the The Camden Colt who could be fighting out for place money.

Epsom 2.35

Both Revich and Fantastic Fox ran well in this last year to finish second and third so given they are proven at the track they are unlikely to be far away. I am going to chance RHOSCOLYN though who has run once at this track and that resulted in a four-length romp as a 3yo. He would have needed this reappearance run and then he didn’t run badly when midfield in the Victoria Cup at a big price. He is down to a mark of just 95 now and back at this venue I can see him going close.

Revich and Fantastic Fox look the dangers but trainer George Boughey won this last year with Totally Charming so All The King’s Men would have to be feared as well having been knocking on the door recently. He is likely better than a mark of 89 so shouldn’t be far away either. At a bigger price Hodler won well at Chester and could sneak into the frame.

Epsom 3.10

This looks a cracking renewal with lasts years Derby third and Oaks second lining up but I am siding with HURRICANE LANE who looked to bounce back to his best last time out at Newmarket. He will be fitter than his main rivals after that run and at his best has to be the one to beat. He will get his favoured quick ground and if he is in the same form as his 6 length romp at Newmarket he has to go well under Buick.

Westover wasn’t as good after taking the Irish Derby last year but did put a decent run together at Meydan to finish second in the valuable Sheema Classic and is the main danger. Emily Upjohn made up for the Oaks second with a very good win in the Champions Fillies and Mares at Ascot. She might need this run before having another good campaign.

Epsom 3.10

Hurricane Lane 7/2

Epsom 3.45

Savvy Victory caught my eye behind Foxes Tales at Kempton and then ran well beaten just a length at Chester last time. He is a big player here but I’m going to chance MAJESTIC who seems to be warming up to a win now. He was just a length behind Marhaba The Champ at York last time and racing off the same mark could be the way to go now. He has a 2lb swing with the favourite and I think this track could really suit so 7/1 seems generous.

Marhaba The Champ obviously impressed at York last time and has won 2 of his last 3 now so could be progressive. He will be thereabouts but also Honiton could be dangerous. He fairly bolted up in the end at Newmarket and is another one going the right way but he’ll need to prove he can handle the track.

Epsom 4.30

Aidan O’Brien has dominated this race over the years and I couldn’t have been more impressed by SAVETHELASTDANCE last time out. She has really stepped up her game since she went up in trip and the way she made ground and then went clear at Chester was a cracking performance. The time figure and the 22 length winning distance was exceptional and I would be disappointed if she doesn’t turn out to be a future star.

There are plenty of rivals to take her on with Running Lion another filly I quite like after winning her last 4. She has to prove she stays but if she does will be the main threat. Soul Sister won well at York and rates the biggest danger according to the market for John Gosden who does well with fillies. Of the rest Eternal Hope and Be Happy could be running on for places but the selection will be tough to beat and should be away and gone.
