Race 2 Mackay 3.42 Jawgo (best price 4/5)
Promising type who made a bright start winning impressively on debut at Townsville last month, dominating throughout; sure to improve from that initial effort and well placed to make it a perfect 2-2 in this.
No surprise to see JAWGO a warm order to remain unbeaten at Mackay on Thursday morning. He was dominant on debut and has scope to keep improving for a while yet. He should push forward and it’ll take a good one to stop him following up. Masterplan won at Kilcoy on penultimate start and wasn’t disgraced in third at Sunshine Coast last time so could threaten if back to his best. Tahkian Bubbles has been running to a consistent level and is another one in with a chance but she needs to improve again for sure.

Race 8 Werribee 7.30 Field Of Flutes (best price 7/4)
Likeable sort who has won 2 of his last 4 and was nicely on top last time beating two rivals at Warrnambool; more to come after just a handful of starts so no surprise to see him salute the judge again.
This looks a great opportunity for FIELD OF FLUTES to make it 2 wins from his last 3 starts. He is building a progressive profile now and while he only beat a couple of rivals at Warrnambool last time it was the way he did it that impressed. He has more to come yet and is comfortably the most likely winner of this. Viviane was poor last time at Flemington but that was a tough ask and she will find this easier so while she is more exposed it wouldn’t be a massive surprise to see her emerge as the main danger.
