ANOTHER BUSY DAY IN AUSTRALIA! Racing Down Under on Friday from Warracknabeal, Geelong, Scone, Ipswich and Moruya. Overnight Double pays 7/2!

MY AUSTRALIAN NAP RUNS IN RACE 5 AT SCONE ON FRIDAY MORNING!

Race 5 Scone 5.05 Perennial (best price 4/5)

Promising type who knew his job on debut to make a winning start at Muswellbrook at the start of the month; open to further improvement off the back of that initial effort and should be able to remain unbeaten.

This looks a good opportunity for PERENNIAL to make it a perfect 2-2. He won on debut and under similar tactics he should be in the box seat to strike once more. He is open to improvement and looks one to keep on side for now. Sting Jet is a decent yardstick and looks the danger but just 1 win from 7 attempts tells you he’ll probably struggle against an improver. Split Decision is quite interesting at a bigger price as that was a tough race at Randwick last time and her debut win was promising so if she bounces back she might be one to run better than her odds suggest at least.

Race 9 Warracknabeal 6.40 Zaynudin (best price 6/4)

Likeable type who got his head in front in Ireland at Gowran last year; beaten at Listowel on final start but made an encouraging return on Australian debut at Swan Hill last time and if building on that could come out on top.

Great chance for ZAYNUDIN to resume his progress with that reappearance run under his belt. His form in Ireland was decent and he should make his mark Down Under. Halcyon East has largely struggled lately but I guess did shape a bit better when midfield at Casterton last time. Still going to need more to spring an upset in this. Shesablinder won at Casterton last time but this is a deeper contest and her form before that was hardly convincing. Zephatino was down the field at Swan Hill and will need to get back on track to land a blow at the business end in this contest.
