Race 5 Northam 8.16 Military Power (best price 6/4)
Good looking chestnut who deserved to get his head in front over track and trip when last seen back in May; open to further improvement and now the penny has dropped could be one to keep firmly on side.
Lots to like about the chances of MILITARY POWER at Northam on Thursday morning. He impressed winning last time and deserved to get his head in front having finished runner-up on 5 of his 6 starts before that. Now he knows how to win he should follow up. Magnificent Carat won at this track on penultimate start but then blew out at Belmont last time. Norich won 3 times from 34 starts and hasn’t been shaping badly lately so might be the one to emerge as the main danger. Charming Belle is unexposed but needs to bounce back in a big way.

Race 2 Kembla Grange 3.55 Rock Girls (best price 2/1)
Promising filly who made a bright start finishing third at Canterbury on debut, notably well backed; sure to improve on that initial effort and well placed to make the breakthrough now so worth chancing.
After going down just half a length on debut ROCK GIRLS looks well placed to open her account now. She looks sure to build on that initial run and is definitely worth keeping safe. River Tamar shaped well when third at Hawkesbury but was disappointing at Newcastle so has a bit to prove following that. Avonview is unraced so could be a danger but the market will likely prove revealing and you’d think he’d know more for the outing. Prince Of Wales has knocked on the door the last twice but still needs to improve a fair bit to win this.
