The speed VALIANT FORCE showed to win at Royal Ascot back in the summer was impressive and I’m willing to forgive that run last time in France on testing ground. Back on a fast surface here we could see a much better performance. He has a wide draw but if he hits the gates running he might be good enough to negate that and is a massive price. Plenty of dangers likely headed by the likeable Big Evs. No Nay Mets is also feared.
The exciting TAMARA is looking to sparkle on the biggest stage of all. This filly did all her best work late on to make a winning start at Del Mar and then pitched into a Grade 1 on just her second start ran out an impressive winner when last seen in September. She steps up in trip again and if that proves a catalyst for further improvement she should complete the hat-trick. Candied is also 2-2 and she has a good attitude so looks the biggest danger.
Santa Anita 10.20
The progressive SHE FEELS PRETTY kicked clear to win head in chest at Woodbine last time and with the promise of more to come she can complete the hat-trick and remain unbeaten. She was given a lot to do last time but went through the gears fairly effortlessly before hitting the line over 4 lengths in front. She will love it if they go hard here and has a massive chance. Carla’s Way has a big engine and is the danger if things pan out for her.
Santa Anita 11.00
I like the chances of unbeaten colt PRINCE OF MONACO here. He created a big impression winning by 8 lengths on debut and improved again to win a Grade 3 at Del Mar beating Muth by over 4 lengths. Stepped up to the top level last time showing a good attitude having travelled strongly. He has more to come and is a horse to keep firmly on side. Timberlake slammed General Partner at Belmont and looks the obvious danger to the selection.
Santa Anita 11.40
Such a shame that River Tiber is now out the Juvenile Turf. He had a massive chance but perhaps stablemate UNQUESTIONABLE is the one to beat now. His form looks really strong having gone down just a length to the exciting Rosallion when last seen in France. He is obviously open to further improvement stretching out to a mile on just his sixth start and will likely prove hard to beat. Endlessly is feared most.
