I’m firmly in the IROKO camp here. I know it was disappointing on the day to see him beat at Haydock but I do feel he bumped into a nice horse in Trelawne (fancy him later on the card) and they pulled miles clear from the rest. He’ll improve for the run and is still armed with a great deal of potential.

James Du Berlais is a good horse and looks the danger especially if he gets an easy time of things on the front end.

I can see JACKS PARROT being a bit of a gamble for this. He was progressive last season winning at Uttoxeter and then following up at Perth. I know that was a fairly quiet reappearance run at Carlisle but he looks well handicapped here and almost certainly is capable of better again this season.

Famous Bridge shaped well at Kelso on return and won this last year so should put up some resistance at least.

Irish raider THE WALLPARK has looked thoroughly progressive winning his last four in a row. He cut through the pack to win impressively again at Cheltenham when last seen in October. Put away since with this the target he may well prove up to the task and will be helped the harder they go up front.

Strong Leader impressed at Newbury and is unexposed as a stayer so looks the danger. Crambo also has to be respected.

It is hard to see how JILAIJONE doesn’t go close here. He left his reappearance run behind to chase home the progressive Double Powerful and then bumped into Solar System at Warwick who has won since. The drop back to 2 miles looks a good move and he should be well enough handicapped to strike.

Lune De La Mer won a bumper at Kelso and then scored on hurdles debut at Aintree so is the danger but has a long layoff to overcome.

I rate Iroko highly so for TRELAWNE to beat that rival at Haydock on return was a really promising effort. He has always been held in high regard by his trainer and could easily progress again now. His jumping is an asset and that can count for plenty around here.

Victtorino won this last year and shaped with encouragement when third on return at Newbury so does look the most obvious threat.

I was on BE AWARE at a big price for the Greatwood and I thought he ran a huge race to go down just half a length to Burdett Road given the ground he made up. I didn’t see anything wrong with his attitude that day and he should come on again for the run. His overall profile is definitely progressive so keep on side.

Dysart Enos ties in closely on that form so has to be respected with improvement likely and Kabral Du Mathan is also a promising sort.
