Cheltenham 1.30
After two highly encouraging runs so far this season this looks a great opportunity for BROADWAY BOY to get himself back in the winners enclosure. He shaped as though he needed the run when third on reappearance and then beat all bar Kandoo Kid at Newbury. That form has already been franked by the third Victtorino and this is a lot easier so he should prove hard to beat.
Our Power bumped into King Turgeon on return and is the danger. It was great to see Cloudy Glen back in the winners enclosure at Haydock but this is tougher up 7lb.
Musselburgh 1.45
The Nicholls yard are too in and out of form for Liari to be a bet at a short price so I’m keen to take a chance on BENSON coming good here. He has struggle the last twice but is down the weights as a result and has won this for the past two years so is clearly well suited by the track and trip. If bouncing back he will be a danger to all.
Sweet Fantasy didn’t shape badly when midfield at Cheltenham last month behind Wodhooh and if building on that could emerge as the main danger to the selection.
Cheltenham 2.05
Jamie Snowden admitted COLONEL HARRY just didn’t stay at Newbury. Back down to 2 and a half miles here with the ground firmly in his favour he could take a lot of beating. He is 2lb lower and should be well handicapped off this mark if things click again. The yard are in good form and he looks good value in the betting.
Gemirande is on a hat-trick and must be feared but a further 8lb rise demands more. Springwell Bay has solid form to his name and this trip looks his optimum so he is the likely danger.
Musselburgh 2.20
With 2 wins from his last 3 starts BOOMSLANG arrives at the top of his game and with more to come I can see him following up under Ross Chapman. He is 7lb higher but I think the drop back in trip will suit and this might not take a great deal of winning and I’m surprised he is as big as 9/2 as that looks generous especially with Beau Balko a shorter price.
Corrigeen Rock has to give weight away but at least he will strip fitter than Ascot and so could be the danger. Breizh River also has a squeak if bouncing back but a bit to prove.
Cheltenham 2.40
The step up in trip saw DEEP CAVE back to form when fifth here last month. He did get outpaced but will be fitter now and if building on that does appeal as being overpriced in here. The ground looks perfect and I’m surprised he is as big as 9/1 in a winnable race. If he can keep tabs on them early then we’ll definitely be in with a shout.
Catch Him Derry could threaten if bouncing back as his win before that blip was stylish. One Big Bang is also feared and is understandably favourite with Cobden booked for the ride.
Cheltenham 3.15
This looks a great chance for SALVER and the money is coming. He won his first four starts and then finished an excellent third behind Majborough in the Triumph. He shaped like he’d improve plenty for the run when fourth at Newbury and with this step up in trip likely to suit he can resume his progress now under Caoilin Quinn.
Golden Ace disappointed at Ascot but was only beaten 2 lengths and if bouncing back could threaten. Lucky Place won the race where Golden Ace disappointed and could be the one to give the selection most to think about.
